Management of Longer Appearing Teeth

The patient is 55 years old male who was unhappy with the look of his upper right canine-it was too long.  This tooth had been restored with a white filling. A gingival grafting was done following removal of the existing white filling to improve the esthetics of this area.

Gingival grafting helps to:

1) Strengthen the gums

2) Reduce risk of root caries due to better plaque control

3) Reduce root sensitivity in covered areas

4) Improve gingival contour
